On Wednesday 24.03, the Dutch Nu-Jazz Movement is going to present its first official joint release: "WHAT'S NU?". A brand new album filled with tracks by all four bands, recorded especially for this cd and soon available worldwide through Social Beats/Unique Records. Apart from new band tracks, a hand full of remixes were added by Phil Martin, Part Time Heroes and State Of Monc for extra appetite. We'll promise you a packed program in March, with shows by The Jazzinvaders, Monsieur Dubois and State Of Monc and the charming support of MC Lennie St Luce and DJ Philippona. Party will be held at the Paradiso (upstairs) and starts at 20h30 (door: 19h30).

In the first week of March, State of Monc will play five shows in Jakarta, Indonesia. Two of those shows will take place at the Java Jazz Festival. So, if you happen to be around, visit us there...

State of Monc entered 2010 with a fully packed Bimhuis in Amsterdam last month. The legendary concert room was sold out and could just capture a crowd of 400 enthusiastic listeners. Luckily the VPRO recorded this evening, Radio 6 broadcasted it live, and now you can listen to the full concert and watch video snippits HERE.

The Jazzinvaders started recording their 3rd album. This time, the focus will be more on vocal jazztunes, hence a leading role for singer Linda Bloemhard. But that's not all, also the instrumentation will be a bit different: they've welcomed the sound of the electric bass and electric pianos. It is all in progress, but it will definitely get The Jazzinvaders to the next level. Within this process of movement the line-up of the Jazzinvaders has also undergone a change. The wonderful pianist Erwin Hoorweg and equally brilliant sax player Tom Beek have decided to spend more time on their own projects. In their place, The Jazzinvaders have found some excellent new bandmembers to complete the new album and to perform on stage like Berthil Bustra on keys and special request tenorsaxophonist Guido Nijs!

The visual collective .notDef (Sibe Kokke and Charlotte Aal) boosts the performance to a thrilling musical journey. With spectacular video projections and challenging soundscapes, State of Monc will give you a Dutch Nu-Jazz experience to the bone. You won't easily forget it so don't miss it. State of Monc welcomes Robin Koerts as their new bass player as of this month. "Robin has developed a distinctive, super groovy style that fits perfectly to State of Monc. We are very happy to have him on board and for sure will enjoy touring with him." Koerts played internationally on different jazz festivals like Montreux (Swiss), Koktebel (Ukraïne), Capetown (South Africa), North Sea (Holland) and Bass Day St. Peterburg (Russia). He also performed in Gabon, Syria, Nepal and Shanghai. You can watch Robin play live with State of Monc on January 23, Bimhuis, Amsterdam. Check out Robin's skills on YouTube.
