Double Concert Monsieur Dubois - State of MoncLooking out for some more Dutch Nu-Jazz?? This weekend, on July 2nd, both State Of Monc and Monsieur Dubois will host the Dutch Nu-Jazz Night at Rotterdams most acclaimed jazz venue Lantaren/Venster.

You will get a fresh update on the two bands: Monsieur Dubois will present the brand new album SLOW BOMBASTIK while State Of Monc demonstrates its current skills operating as a flexible 5-piece unit. To make it even more spectacular they'll bring their veejay as well because nothing beats this groovy combination of visuals and ultra danceable jazzy beats.

To fix the evening, DJ Onno Paloma, whose taste is as wide as exellent, will keep the vibes going before and after the shows...

More information can be found on the website of LantarenVenster. See you tomorrow!

Lately The Jazzinvaders had some very succesful gigs abroad: at the Jazzahead fair in Bremen, the Burghausen Jazz festival and at various other places in Germany and Austria. The past few weeks The Jazzinvaders have been touring The Netherlands, doing a few major Jazz festivals such as the 'Jazz in Duketown' and 'The Hague Jazz' amongst others.

Meanwhile the band is preparing for a new remix album based  on their recent album '3'. No further details on that one yet, apart for the title: 'EL3CTRIC'. We'll keep you posted on the subject, in any case the release itself is sceduled for September.

After a great show at the Borneo Jazz Festival in Malaysia last May, State of Monc did a couple of shows at Dutch festivals and, last but not least, had a very good time playing at The Jazz Ralley in Düsseldorf, Germany. This Friday the band will be playing at the Beleuvenissen festival in Leuven, their first performance in Belgium ever! More shows in Belgium are scheduled for the second part of 2011. July 2nd State of Monc will play at Lantaren/Venster (Rotterdam) together with Monsieur Dubois, as part of the North Sea Round Town program. For the coming months, some far-away-trips are being organized and besides that, the band is working on new material to be released on EP later on this year.

The 3rd Monsieur Dubois album has just arrived!

"Imagine being dragged from a dark sweaty discotheque to a crowded marketplace in Lagos, or suddenly finding yourself on the desolate Russian plains just after you watched a Blaxploitation movie in the centre of Amsterdam..." The new Monsieur Dubois album feels just like that!

Click the artwork and listen to the new Dubois sound. You can get the full album at iTunes, Bol.com, or do it old school by ordering it at your local record store!

Scallymatic Orchestra plays the music of Jimi Hendrix this year. Do not expect the usual guitar show, however. SO deconstructs and rebuilds the music according to their own laws. In these heavily Scallymatised versions sometimes only the words and melody have been left intact. Scallymatic Orchestra rocks more than ever on this project. The grooves, the freedom and energy, musicality and experimental arrangements, the dopest riffs. It’s all there in a cross-over of vintage rock with jazz and soul, Scally-style 2011.

Freedom is the first single of this project: a rough disco cut whichs rocks any room. On remix duty, Moto lays down a fatty analogue synth spanked space-disco workout. Available March 11th (download).

Monsieur Dubois will perform at the next JAZZAHEAD!, the annual music meeting and largest jazzbusiness event in Europe. From a total of 160 applicants, an international jury selected Monsieur Dubois and 29 other candidates for a showcase during the "European Jazz Meeting" program. JAZZAHEAD! takes place from April 28 untill May 1 at the Messe Bremen (Germany).

Since this week Radio 6, without a doubt one of Hollands nicest radiostations, is supporting Monsieur Dubois by promoting the pre-sale of their upcoming record. In order to produce it Monsieur Dubois is calling for support from everyone digging Dubois. By pre-ordering the album that will release in 2011, you'll help Monsieur Dubois financing the whole project, thus becoming a vital part of it. If you stay tuned to Radio 6 you'll get regular updates on the making of the record, done by the bandmembers themselves. So get warmed up to order that long awaited new Monsieur Dubois album and become part of the deal!
